Washington State Society of Healthcare Attorneys
Update on Kristin Miles Memorial Student Scholarship

The Kristin Miles Memorial Student Scholarship honors Kristin’s commitment to ensuring that law students had every opportunity to participate in Washington State Society of Healthcare Attorneys (WSSHA) programs. She was ever vigilant in reminding the Board of our obligation to advance the education of future members by making our programs accessible to the law student community. While we cannot replace Kristin’s passion, dedication, and always present good humor, we honor her by providing this support to law students each year so that they can attend the WSSHA Fall Health Law conference.

The 2020 WSSHA Fall Health Law Conference will be complimentary to all law students.

In years past, WSSHA has provided a scholarship a selection of students enrolled in law schools in the State of Washington.  The scholarship award included waiving of conference fees and a stipend for travel and hotel.  Given that this the 2020 Fall Health Law Conference will be held virtually, WSSHA has decided to waive conference fees for all law students that would like to attend the virtual conference.

Kristin Miles was a member of the Washington State Society of Healthcare Attorneys Board of Directors from 2006 until her death in 2012.

Any first-, second- or third-year J.D. student, as well as any health law LL.M. student, enrolled in a law school located in the State of Washington, may attend this year’s Fall Health Law Conference for free.  We look forward to reinstating the Kristin Miles Memorial Student Scholarship in its prior form once we are able to hold in-person conferences again.
